Italian Job Tour Itinerary 2020

Tuesday 1st September.
Meet at the DFDS ferry Eastern Docks, Dover CT16 1JA at 11.00. Catch the 12:00 ferry to Dunkirk arrive at 14.45, ( France + 1 hour)
Drive to the IBIS Hotel, Rue Du Maugre. ZI No 2. Prouvy Rouvignnies. 59121 Valenciennes. France.
Go out for our evening meal.

Wednesday 2nd September.
Up at 8ish, breakfast and on our way by 9.00. Buy provisions and petrol along the way. Leave Chaumont and head towards Riems, visit the old Grand Prix race circuit and the pits and grandstands, then to Chaumont, staying at the B&B Hotel Route De Langres D619. 52000 Chaumont

In the evening eat at the one of the local restaurants.

Thursday 3rd September.
Up at 8ish, breakfast and on our way by 9.00. Buy provisions for lunch and petrol along the way. Leave Chaumont and then towards Besancon  and on to  Polighy, turning off onto the N 5 towards Geneva. Around Geneva and end up on the N 205 towards Chamonix.  Through the Mont Blanc tunnel into Italy, purchasing a return ticket (55.00 Euro’s) Just into Italy is Hotel Aigle, 5 Strada La Palude, Entreves 11013. Evening meal is at 8

Friday 4th September.
After breakfast on our way by 9:00. Buy provisions and petrol. Then it is onto the first of the film locations, the scene where the Lamborghini crashes in the tunnel, then onto the scene where Professor Peach picks the flowers, and this is also the location where all the vehicles meet up and go their separate ways and where they dump the “Dormobile” and get into the coach. Then it is up the St Bernard Pass to the scenes where the opening credits where filmed, and see where the 3 Mini’s were “pushed” out of the back of the coach, stop for a bite to eat at the top, and then drive south on the motorway to Turin, staying at a the 4 star Lingotto Hotel   (Old Fiat Factory with the test track on the roof) for 3 nights.

In the evenings you are free to do your own thing, sight-seeing etc. (it is still light till about 9.30.)

Saturday 5th September.
On Saturday visit (on foot) most of the locations used in Turin. In the late afternoon you are free to explore this beautiful City.

Sunday 6th September
On Sunday morning we will use our cars to visit some of the locations on the edge of town. The 3 cornered building the Mini's drove upon, the scene where the police motorcyclist crashed through the wall and the deleted scene at the ice skating rink, the film companies head quarters and the gangs hide out. Finish around 2 o clock time and the rest of the day is to yourselves. There is time in the afternoon to explore the beautiful city of Turin.

Monday 7th September.
After breakfast, drive your Mini onto the roof for photo’s and video. Then leave Turin and head back towards France, but first we visit the “cliff hanger scene”, filmed a mile and a half above sea level, up the Col De Nivolet. We will stop here for lunch and enjoy the scenery. The view is breath taking and I have saved the best until last……… Then head to the Hotel in Entreves  again.

Tuesday 8th September.
After breakfast at 8ish on our way by 9:00,  we will head back into France, through the Mont Blanc tunnel and retrace our steps and finish up at the B& B  Hotel, Route De Langres Chaumont 52000. In the evening go out for a meal.

Wednesday 9th September.

After breakfast, and shopping we must be on our way by 9.00. Staying at the Hotel Du Lac, Rue Du Lac Armbouts Cappel on the outskirts of Dunkirk. At 8:30 in the evening there will be a showing of The Italian Job film.
255 miles.

Thursday 10th September.
Up at 8:00 and on our way by 9:00 to catch the 10.00 ferry at Terminal Roulier Du Port Quest 59279.
Say our good byes and make your way home.

Total mileage abroad is 1600 miles.


A deposit of £100 per person is required by the 31st January 2020, so that I can book the ferry. A further £750 per person (sharing) will be due at the end of April to pay for the hotels.
Those applying at a later date will pay more.
